CommStar Network Peripheral Device
The RCS CommStar Network Control Units with the CommStar RS485 peripheral network support up to
sixteen 8CUR relay control units. Each relay can be Set/Cleared individually or as a group. Advanced
commands allow for latched operation or a pulsed commands with pulse widths up to 255 seconds.
WinEVM Support
RCS Network Control Units (NCU's) include built-in support for up to sixteen 8CUR control units. The
Windows based WinEVM software provides for setup, monitoring and control of the 8CUR. WinEVM
allows creation of events and macros with relay control that can be downloaded into Network Control
Units.
Relay Outputs
8 individual SPDT relays with 1 Amp at 30 VDC contacts. Common, NO and NC connections are
available at the screw terminals.
LED Indicators
Each relay channel has an LED indicator to show the ON/OFF status. A Status LED alternates on/off with
each valid transmission received.
Addressing
Dip-switch network address setting from 1 to 16. Address 0 is reserved for global commands.
Network Connection
The 8CUR is for use with the CommStar RS485 network. Communications parameters are half duplex,
9600 baud, 8 bits, 1 stop bit, no parity. The network connection is a removable 4 position screw terminal
block, with Ground, +Data , -Data and optional network 12VDC power input.
Network Wiring:
4 wire, 2 for Data, 2 for Power (optional). Cat 3 or 5 wiring is acceptable wiring
Power:
12VDC 200mA. Transformer included.
