The Aprilaire Model 8825 System Controller is the "smarts" of the Aprilaire HVAC Automation System. It works in conjunction with the Aprilaire Model 8870 Thermostat to provide the means to manage comfort and control the energy costs that heating and cooling represent.
The System Controller can accommodate up to 16 Model 8870 thermostats connected with one or more Model 8818 Distribution panels. Each thermostat on the thermostat network must have a unique ID.

The Aprilaire Model 8825 System Controller provides the building manager a convenient, easy to use central control point for all of their heating and cooling needs. This is accomplished by simply accessing the system through any standard computer and web browser. Through this intuitive interface, the building manager can establish thermostat schedules and determine required system overrides. Security measures are in place to prevent unauthorized access.
The System Controller package includes:
- Model 8825 System Controller
- Power supply
- Installation, Configuration and User Manual
- One standard Cat5 Ethernet cable to connect the System Controller to a local area network
- One crossover Cat5 Ethernet cable to connect the System Controller directly to a computer network port
- One Cat5 RS-485 serial communication pigtail cable to connect the System Controller to the Distribution Panel

Installation Overview
To install the System Controller you will need to complete the following steps, which are described in detail in the Installation, Configuration, and User Manual (doc format):
- Mount the System Controller in a suitable location
- Provide power to the System Controller
- Connect the System Controller to the Distribution Panel
- Connect the System Controller to a network or a computer
