The Interface Of Choice For HVAC Automation. Always reports to a distribution panel which will always be connected to a network system controller. The 8870 is Directly compatible with any RS485 network and with the 8811 protocol adaptor with RS232 Protocol. Cat 5 cable is used between the stats, the 8818 Distribution Panel and the Network or System controller such as the Aprilaire 8825.

to simple HVAC automation. The NEW Aprilaire Model
8870, makes integrating heating and cooling control
into all your system proposals easy and profitable.
As always, Aprilaire is compatible with all major home automation systems, but now one thermostat controls
all types of HVAC equipment eliminating guesswork.
The new Model 8870 also has a Message Center
display that opens up new possibilities for enhancing
your systems. The message center simplifies set up
and addressing while it can also display custom
messages. It's not total home automation without
HVAC control and the Model 8870 is the choice of
professional integrators.

- One Thermostat For All Equipment:
Thermostat selection is simple assuring the
correct thermostat for the job every time. Aprilaire's 8870 is compatible with virtually any
type of system, including single-stage or multi-stage, heat/cool systems or heat pumps.
It also works with heating and cooling systems having separate power supplies.
- Message Center:
A convenient alpha numeric display provides simple set-up and
addressing through menu driven options. The message center can also be utilized by a
home automation system to display virtually any type of information with the only
limitation being the programmer's imagination.
- Backlighting:
Full backlighting of both displays eliminates the inconvenience of viewing
in dimly lit spaces. This feature is user selectable to turn on based on light level or any
time there is a button pressed.
- Large Display:
The large main display assures customers can easily view set points,
outdoor/remote temperature, fan status and the network communications at a glance.
- Integrated Communication Card:
The 8870 now has an integrated communication
card which simplifies wiring, reduces components and extends the wire run distance to as
much as 4,000 feet from the distribution panel wiring buss. Addressing each thermostat
is now done in the message center through the set up menus.
- Stand Alone Operation:
As always, Aprilaire's 8870 provides you with peace of mind as
a stand alone controller whether or not the computer controller or automation system is
up and running.
Message Center Display
The message center display is backlit and
consists Of 2 lines Of 16 characters each.
You can now enhance your systems by
sending customized messages providing more information
than ever before. Here are some
