The Air Relief Valve stops damage to the central vacuum system motor caused by clogs and blockage. In the instance that a clog or blockage occurs the valve will spring open, allowing air to the motor, which prevents damage to the motor. A sweep tee connector (part number 508) will need to be spliced into the homes pipes - the closer to the unit the better.
