The Black and Decker freewire system works by using your home's existing wiring to send signals (X10) from the Messenger Hub to freewire devices around your home. Your existing wiring is not affected by the freewire system, and freewire signals won't affect any of the non-freewire devices you have plugged into your home's outlets. freewire won't even affect your electricity bill.
With freewire, you always have the added peace of mind of having local control of your appliances and lights. That is, you can still turn them off and on manually at the source (as you always have) without disrupting the freewire system. Simply return to using the freewire Indoor, Master and Key Chain Remote controls whenever you desire.
HomeLink Compatible
If you drive one of the 20 million cars, trucks or minivans equipped with the HomeLink® Wireless Control System, you are already compatible with freewire. Now you can press button 1 to turn on the exterior lights, button 2 to disarm the security system, and button 3 to turn on the interior/kitchen lights, for example. Learn More
