Acts as a translator for the communication process to the thermostats. Converts RS232 serial port communication from the PC or host computer into long distance RS485 communications used by Aprilaire communicating thermostats. LEDs flash to let the user know when commands are being sent.

The 8811 Protocol Adapter supports up to 32 communicating thermostats. Each 8811 has color coded flying leads and two RJ-1 six wire type jacks. Includes a 9vdc transformer, cable and DB9 connector. The 8811 is used on all Aprilaire compatible software systems using an RS232 port for serial port communications. While not used on AMX and Phast Systems, one 8811 should be kept on hand by these dealers as a service and test tool. The 8811 allows any installer with a Windows based computer or laptop to communicate directly to Aprilaire thermostats in order to verify hardware and communications.
