Product Description

Keep cats out of your garden with the CatStop!
The CatStop detects animal intruders and emits a high decibel alarm which startles them away. The CatStop keeps cats out of your flower gardens, yard or anywhere you don't want them to be.

It's easy to use. Place the unit facing the area you want to protect. The built-in motion sensor detects the animal entering the area and emits a piercing, high decibel alarm. It startles the cat and frightens it away. Since the sound is ultrasonic you and your neighbors cannot hear it. It operates for up to nine months on one standard 9 volt battery. [Battery life estimate is based upon 4900 activations spread over 245 days at an average of 20 per day.

The CatStop protects about 330 square feet (20 feet or 9m in front of the unit in an 80 degree arc). There are no controls or adjustments. Simply install the battery and position in your garden.

Why It Works
The CatStop is an effective cat deterrent because:
  • A powerful burst of ultrasonic sound startles the cat.
  • The cat equates the location with the unpleasant occurrence.
  • The cat avoids the location in the future.
Unlike many pest deterrents that operate continuously, the CatStop unit waits for the animal to come into its range before activating, thereby creating a more startling effect.

CatStop Components
The CatStop requires one alkaline 9-volt battery (not included) and only takes moments to assemble.

"CAT WARS! One man's frontline battle report by Wayne Schmidt. In the article he reports on cat repellents tested to keep cats out of a yard including both Scarecrows and CatStops. "I set up three of the ultrasonic repellers on one side of my yard and two of the water jet repellers on the other to see which is more effective at keeping cats out of my yard. After a week of use both have been 100 percent effective... I am happy to announce that the CAT WARS are officially over and I was victorious. Full story: Cat Wars Story"

"Cats were spraying on all doors etc. and digging garden. No cat has been sighted since installation. Great stuff!!"

"Happily, since mounting the Cat Stop unit on the ceiling of our carport, cats paw tracks have become a thing of the past. We mounted the CatStop so that it is aimed down at an angle from the middle of the cars roof towards the radiator - the sensor "looks" at the windshield and hood. During the last few years the almost daily "surprise" of dirt (mud in wet weather) across the hood, up the windshield and over the roof had become increasingly annoying. During 2? months in use we experienced only a single re-occurrence at about week 3, but are now confident the problem is gone so long as we use the unit. Once more it's great to just drive in and out. We never touch the Cat Stop; it's always left turned on and mounted in it's position above where we park and it does it's job of chasing the cats without any further action on our parts. Someday we will have to replace the battery, but not yet and the price of the unit and batteries is more than worth the results; no applying and removing covers each time we use the car and washing them when they became too dirty. We can even wash the car and have it stay clean for more than an overnight. We are very pleased with the products performance."

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does the CatStop work?
A: The CatStop has a built in motion sensor that detects any animal that comes into it's range of view. When activated it emits an extremely loud, but high pitched, noise that only cats can hear. This loud noise effectively startles them away. (Output details: 124 db at one foot, frequency is 21-25 kh)

Q: What size area does it cover?
A: Approx 330 sq feet. Measured 20 feet from unit at a pitch of 12 degrees and 80 degrees across.

Q: How long does the battery last?
A: Under average use, a good quality alkaline batter should last approximate 8 - 9 months.

Q: Is it easy to assemble?
A: Yes! CatStop assembly requires absolutely no tools. Simply snap the stake onto the main unit. (two stakes are included so you can use the CatStop at varying heights. If you choose, you can also easily mount your CatStop on a wall, fence or post).

Q: Is it weather proof?
A: Yes! The CatStop is weather proof and can be left outdoors in all conditions. Please note that battery life may be diminished under colder temperatures.

Q: Illustrated setup instructions?
A: Yes. Download English version. (1.744 Meg PDF file)

Q: Does the CatStop work on other animals?
A: The CatStop has been specifically designed to the hearing range of cats. It has not been designed to deter other animals such as raccoons, deer, birds, rats, etc. However the Scarecrow works on a variety of animals.

Q: Which product works better for deterring cats; the Scarecrow or CatStop? A: While both products are excellent products for deterring cats, the Cat Stop can be used places where the Scarecrow is not ideal (anywhere that spraying water would be unacceptable or when a water source is not easily available). For instance, the Cat Stop is a perfect solution for keeping cats out of carports and garden beds near public walkways. The Scarecrow has a larger sensing range and is an excellent device for keeping cats off lawns, and away from ponds and gardens.

Q: How do I return a CatStop if it doesn't meet my expectations?
A: Please follow our instructions for our returns.
