How it Works
The Garage Sentry uses a Sensor mounted on the garage door and a Monitor located
anywhere in your house to tell you if the garage door(s) are open or closed.
The Garage Sentry Sensor detects if the garage door is open or closed by sending out an
invisible beam of infrared light. The beam is bounced back by the Yellow Reflector.
When the Sensor receives the signal from the yellow reflector, it signals
the Garage Door Sentry Monitor that the garage door is closed with 3
beeps. A steady GREEN LIGHT on the Monitor indicates the garage
door is closed.
As the garage door moves up, the Garage Sentry Sensor breaks optical
contact with the yellow reflector. When the Sensor no longer "sees" the
yellow reflector, it signals the Monitor indicating the door is now open. A
FLASHING RED LIGHT on the Garage Sentry Monitor accompanied
by two beeps, indicates the garage door is open.
The Monitor beeps each time the garage door is opened or closed. If the
door is left open, the Monitor beeps once every 5 minutes for 2 hours
letting you know the garage door is open. (Note that all beeping can be silenced).
