This product has been discontinued.
The ELK-MK410 X-10® Transceiver is a pre-programmed ELK Magic Module™ (ELK-MM443). It may be used to control X-10® devices such as lamps or appliances that are triggered from a contact or switch closure. X10® signals received by the MK410 can activate relays to control devices connected to the relays.

|
An on board jumper selects the timed output mode which will turn off an output 15 minutes after it is triggered on. The MK410 transmits X-10® signals triggered from the four inputs, and activates onboard relays from X-10® signals received from the power line. Custom program changes may be made to the program using the ELK Programming Kit (ELK-MK485) or Starter Kit (ELK-MK400).
Examples: Hallway, garage, and closet lights may be triggered on with a door switch contact or motion detector for 15 minutes, then automatically turned off to conserve energy. Or Switch contacts from one area of a building may be sent to another MK410, using X-10® , to activate its relay outputs.

Operating Mode:
Data Bus Address Jumper "16" { This jumper is read only upon power-up and is used to select the output operating mode of operation as follows:
Jumper "16" in the "0" position (non-timed output) {
|
- The output relays (1-4) will follow the hardwired input (1-4) state of violated or normal. Example1: Input 1 switch input is opened, therefore output relay 1 will be activated as long as the switch is violated. Example2: Input 4 contact is shorted across the input loop, therefore output relay 4 will be activated as long as the input contact is not in its normal state.
- X-10® will transmit an "ON" command when the input loop is initially violated. When the input restores to its normal state an X-10® "OFF" command will be transmitted.
Jumper "16" in the "1" position (15 minute timed output){
|
- Output Relays (1-4) will activate when the hardwired input (1-4) goes to a violated state. A corresponding Timer (1-4) will be set for 15 minutes and hold the output relay activated until the timer expires, whether the input state is violated or not. Any time the input goes from a normal state to a violated state, the timer(1-4) will be reset to 15 minutes.
- X-10® will transmit an "ON" command when the input loop is initially violated, and an "OFF" command when the timer(1-4) expires.
Inputs { All inputs are configured to use a 2000 ohm End-Of-Line Resistor and normally open or normally closed switches as follows:
Multiple normally closed (NC) switches may be wired in series and multiple normally open (NO) switches may be wired in parallel. Any switch going to a violated or non-normal state will violate the loop. Note: Normally closed means when the door is closed, the switch is closed.
Each input's loop response time, or the amount of time required for the control processor to recognize a violated input loop, is preset in the program to 200 milliseconds.
The normal, non { violated input voltage range is from 2.5 to 8 volts. When the input voltage goes above or below this range, the input will be violated.
When the hardwired inputs (1-4) trigger an output relay (1-4), jumper 16 determines whether the output relay follows the input (jumper 16 = "0"), or will reset in 15 minutes ( jumper 16 = "1") as described above.
Outputs{ The MK410 includes four form C relay outputs with contacts rated at up to 12 amps. Two relay outputs are jumper programmable (JP11 & JP12) to switch the output through an open collector NPN transistor (100 milliamps maximum at the "COM" terminal) instead of the relay for higher speed applications such as flashing LED's where the click of the relay is not desired. The relays are controlled from the hardwire inputs or from an X-10® command received.
X-10® output. An X-10® "ON" or "OFF" command is transmitted from the hardwire input states and from the relay activated state as described above.
X-10® "ON" Command Received { When the matching House Code (A-P), Unit Code (1-4, and the "ON" command is received, the corresponding output relay (1-4) will be activated. If jumper 16 is in the "0" position, the output relay (1-4) will activate and remain latched on until an "OFF" Command is received and the relay output will then de-activate or turn off. If jumper 16 is in the "1" position, the output relay (1-4) will be activated and a 15 minute timer will start. When the timer expires, the output relay (1-4) will be de-activated and an X-10® "OFF" command will be transmitted.
X-10® "OFF" Command Received - When the matching House Code (A-P), Unit Code (1-4), and the "OFF" Command is received, the corresponding output relay (1-4) will be de-activated.
X-10® "DIM" Command Received - When the matching House Code (A-P), Unit Code (1-4), and the "DIM" Command is received, the corresponding output relay (1-4) will activate for two seconds. The MK410 will transmit an X-10® "ON" Command and then an X-10® "OFF" Command at the end of the 2 second time interval.
X-10® "BRIGHT" Command Received - When the matching House Code (A-P), Unit Code (1-4), and the "BRIGHT" Command is received, the corresponding output relay (1-4) will activate for thirty (30) seconds. The MK410 will transmit an X-10® "ON" Command. At the end of the thirty second time interval the MK410 will deactivate the relay and transmit an X-10® "OFF" Command.
X-10® "STATUS REQUEST" Command Received - When the matching House Code (A-P), Unit Code (1-4), and the "STATUS REQUEST" Command is received, an X-10® "STATUS ON" will be transmitted if the output relay (1-4) is activated, or an X-10® "STATUS OFF" Command will be transmitted if the output relay (1-4) is de-activated.
X-10® "All Units OFF" Command Received - When the matching House Code (A-P), and the "All Units OFF" Command is received, all output relays (1-4) will be de-activated.
