TED - The Energy Detective - is an easy-to-use, accurate electricity monitor that can help you save 10% to 20% (or more) on your energy bill. This handy device provides immediate feedback on your energy usage so you can determine where and when to reduce your electricity consumption to save money and the environment.
TED is available alone or with data-logging software, called Footprints, that allows you to see your energy consumption in depth on your computer.
Installation is quick and easy. A transmitter is installed in your breaker box and the display unit can be plugged into any outlet in your home. No wires need to be run at all!

Installation
Ted can be installed by a qualified homeowner or an electrician in 10-15 minutes. No additional wires need to be run. The cover of your electrical panel will need to be removed. If you are not familiar with electrical components and the operation of a circuit breaker panel, it is recommended that an electrician perform installation to prevent serious injury or death. Below is a diagram of what a typical installation might look like. Your installation may vary. Installation instructions are included with your purchase.

TED Model 1001 is suitable for use only with the following:
120/240V single-phase 60Hz services
Services of 200 AMPS or less
Services with a single service disconnect
Services with maximum 350 MCM Conductors
Included RDU is only approved for use with the included MTU and QX 200-CT. Use with any other product will void warranty, and may cause an electrical or fire hazard.
TED Model 1001 will not work with the following:
3-Phase service
230V 50Hz service typical in most areas outside North America
Main circuit breakers or fuse panels larger than 200 Amps
More than one main circuit breaker or switch
Main service circuit conductors (wires) larger than 1-inch in diameter

Footprints is software that logs real-time electricity usage and creates graphs, charts and many other features to help make you aware of your energy consumption.
