Intellatest: The First Speaking X10 Diagnostic Aid
IntellaTest is a debugging aid used to detect random or corrupted X-10 signals. Anyone who has worked with X-10 knows how difficult it is to locate weak signal areas or detect stray codes entering a home from a neighboring system. When plugged into a PSC05 power line interface, IntellaTest will speak, in English, every code it detects moving through the power line.
Item # INTEST
You will be able to hear each code as it is actually heard by your receiving module. As IntellaTest is moved to different locations within your system, you can instantly hear if a correct or corrupted code is being received in that area.
Features
Micro-Processor Controlled
15 Watt Mylar Cone Speaker
EEPROM Voice Storage
Supplied Power Transformer
IntellaTest speaks in an "A, 1, ON" format. It will detect each paired transmission, and assemble it into a complete command, just as your receiving module does. If a transmission is missing a unit number, IntellaTest will insert an "A" in place of the unit number.
IntellaTest is perfect for detecting random codes that may be coming from a neighboring system or "hearing" how your controller sends commands. Some modules will send an "off" after an "on" just as some will not re-send an "on" if it thinks its already on. Simply leave IntellaTest plugged in for an extended time period. If any unscheduled codes are invading your system you will hear exactly what they are so you can avoid using them in your system. To learn how your controller handles code, just listen to IntellaTest repeat the actual signals as your controller sends them.
Instruction
Plug wall transformer into any wall outlet and the attached phone style cord into a PSC05 2 Way Power Line Interface . You can share a PSC05 with most controllers by using a standard duplex adapter jack.
IntellaTest will speak an "A" upon powerup to let you know it is ready. As it detects an X- IO signal it will instantly echo it back to you. Code reading is suspended while speaking, so if your system employs long macros, some codes may be missed. It is best to add a few second delay between commands to give IntellaTest time to speak.
