The System Chime Board is just one of a series of contractor-friendly operational components that combine to provide a flexible feature set that can be quickly adapted to a home owner's specific needs.
APPLICATION
After replacing a doorbell button with an Outdoor Station, adding the Chime Board to a Leviton Residential Intercom System permits a legacy doorbell to ring in addition to the phones ringing when any zone is activated. It is designed as an expansion board that mounts on an available spot on the Intercom System bracket in the Structured Media™ Center (SMC). Two screw terminals on the board permit attachment of one wire from the doorbell and another from the doorbell’s power supply location after the doorbell is pre-wired to the SMC to enable momentary contact closure to activate the doorbell.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
- Provides ringing of a legacy doorbell in addition to the phones ringing when any zone is activated after an Outdoor Station has replaced a doorbell button
- Easily wires into the Intercom System via patch cords to other boards
- Two screw terminals provide a dry-contact closure interface rated at 1 Amp at 125VAC/30VDC for the doorbell's activation wiring or to activate various other devices
- Dipswitches (jumpers) can set dry contacts to normally open (default) or normally closed; Contacts are set to normally open for a doorbell application. Dipswitches at the bottom of the board allow for adjustment of length of time contracts are activated
- Chime module in SMC must be pre-wired via 18/2 or 16/2 wiring to doorbell. (Chime Board does not power doorbell and pre-wiring of doorbell to SMC must follow manufacturer's instructions)
- Fuse-protected 12VDC powered board with Green LED power indicator light
- Form factor of printed circuit board fits on Leviton brackets
