This motion sensing light control is ideal for use in outdoor locations, such as the backyard, garage and storage buildings. Built-in infrared sensing technology monitors a 4000 sq. ft. field 110 degrees wide up to 40 feet in front of the unit. When the sensor detects motion in its field of view, it can respond by sending ON signals to Receiver Modules set to control lights at tour sequential system addresses.

The system makes undetected intrusion extremely difficult. When any 6417 senses motion in its field, it sends two types of commands: it sends an ON command signals to up to four sequential system addresses AND it sends a MOTION DETECTED signal that is detected only by other 6417s set to the same address. As long as any source of infra-red radiation remains in sight of any 6417 sensor field of view, it will continue to send MOTION DETECTED signals every six seconds to the other 6417s on the same address, providing the convenience of continuous illumination along a path from a garage to an entranceway, or around an entire residence, if desired. It can also turn on inside lighting fixtures as well as outdoor fixtures, to frighten off would-be late-night intruders. The 6417 can be a key element in a home security system. The Passive Infrared Transmitter installs easily into standard round outdoor junction boxes and comes complete with mounting plate, control unit, installation, operating instructions and par lamp holders. (Lamps not included).
The 6417 contains a moisture-resistant control panel includes sensitivity adjustments to prevent nuisance tripping, and a time delay to set the length of time the lights stay on, from 6 seconds to thirty minutes. Manual override of the 6417 can be achieved with the use of a 16400/16450 or 6312 Controller.
