With the introduction of the CX-502, the scope of the CX series is greatly increased. The CX-502 not only includes all the outstanding features of the CX Series, but incorporates such high value added features as Anti-Masking and Self-Checking in the CX-502AM verison.

The CX-502 Series employs Temperature Compensation to provide accurate detection by automatically adjusting its sensitivity according to the environmental temperature. It will prevent non detection under high temperature conditions where the background temperature is very similar to the human body, while maintaining a high level of false alarm protection.

Maintains stable detection even in adverse temperature conditions because tall, vertical zones are created through the multifocused optics. They capture an entire human body and detect the smallest temperature contrast against the background.

Spherical Lens Technology offers both flexibility and reliability, enabling all installation site requirements to be met by a single detector.
- Spherical Lens Design
Conventional interchangeable lenses inevitable meet sensitivity distortion problems when flat long range detection lenses are bent to fit a curbed housing cover. Optex's spherically designed lens will obtain sharp detection for both Wide Angle and Long Range using the same lens surface.

Long Range Pattern focused through a bent, flat lens (conventional models)
Because a flat lens is "bent", sensitivity distortion occurs at both sides of the lens, (the lens surface is not directing IR energy correctly), resulting in poor sensitivity for long distance detection applications.

CX-502AM Version - ANTI-MASKING & SELF-CHECKING
- Improved Reliability
- Anti-Masking (Patent Pending)
By providing two photoelectric detection beams, operating in different directions, the CX-502AM unlike other Anti-masking PIRs will detect masking both directly to the lens surface and also shielding in front of the PIR. Either of these actions will generate a trouble signal.

- Self-Checking
This function activates a trouble signal if CX-502AM's sensing ability is not circuits. Correctly, The Sensor and Signal Processing Circuit are automatically checked once every 5 hours and also when the alarm system is armed (a compatible control panel is necessary to send an arming signal to the CX-502AM's alarm memory input). This ensures system integrity.
- Initial Alarm Memory (CX-502AM Only)
This function is indicated by a red LED and memorizes which detector was first triggered when several detectors are connected in one alarm loop.
