Product Overview
Powerline Control Systems has developed a high quality, X-10 compatible wall switch that is a low cost alternative to hard-wired lighting systems. The SS1 Smart Switch can be retrofitted in existing homes to allow for local and remote control capability. The SmartSwitch comes in several variations (600W and 1000W versions) and can now be set to be dimmed or set for ON/OFF operation only.It is available in 5 colors (white, ivory, almond, gray and black). All models can control both incandescent and magnetic low voltage loads and contains a 25A triac which is the highest capacity available n the TO220 package.

All PCS SmartSwitches are "masters" and they can be connected to one or more inexpensive slave switches to provide three-way or multi-way control. The SSR slave switch looks and operates the same as the SS1 master switch, and can be run up to 1000 feet away. The SS1 has a tri-color LED that serves three functions. First, it serves as a night-light that makes the switch easy to locate in the dark. Second, it is used as visual feedback in the programming and setup process. Last, during normal operation it indicates the status of the powerline transmissions, blinking green for transmissions that apply to internal addresses, blinking off for other valid transmissions and blinking orange for noise or corrupted transmissions.
The PCS SceneMaster lighting control system allows the designer/installer to implement up to sixteen pre-set scenes for each circuit. The scene's lighting levels can easily be changed using SceneMaster's innovative programming system. When initial programming is complete, just one X-10 ON command (less than 0.6 seconds) is all you need to activate any group of lights simultaneously.
The SceneMaster lighting system allows "room" scenes (such as home theater, dining room), "pathway" scenes (such as lights from kitchen to pool house) and "whole-house" scenes or house-modes (such as "night", "away", "home", "alarm"). Every scene can have a different ramp rate and every light in a scene can have a different pre-set level.

Installation

- Pre-wiring
Mount appropriate wall box. Pull power wiring to include line and neutral. Run two 120VAC, 12 or 14GA rated wires to each remote slave switch location. Remotes require no neutral.
- Mounting
Install switch with standard wall switch hardware and Decora style face plate.
