New Panasonic KX-TA624 Advanced Hybrid System Highlighted By Enhanced Features, Flexible Expansion Capability
Panasonic adds more strength to its telecommunications lineup with the KX-TA624 Advanced Hybrid System, a totally new modular PBX system designed for flexibility and versatility, easily supporting a user's needs for today-and more importantly-for tomorrow.
"The KX-TA624 is a low-cost solution for big telecommunications needs that are now required by home and small businesses to keep pace with the competition," says Mike Gillespie, national product manager, Communication Systems Division.
Out of the box, the basic KX-TA624 phone system provides a variety of features for basic telecommunications requirements, such as Call Forward Busy and Message Waiting, yet can be easily updated and enhanced to keep pace with a user's growing needs for years to come. Adding features or increasing the system capacity is easily accomplished by adding plug-in circuit cards and programming.
For example, the basic KX-TA624 is equipped with one internal master board that supports the standard three outside lines and eight internal lines (3X8 configuration). But that's just the start. As needs grow, up to two additional boards can be plugged in above the first. A KX-TA62470 board adds another eight inside lines to the system for a 3X16 configuration; or a KX-TA62477 board adds three outside lines and eight additional inside lines (6X16). Or both cards can be added for a maximum system configuration of six outside lines and 24 internal ones [6X24].
The KX-TA624 has a hybrid design meaning that you can connect either Panasonic 7000 series telephones or single line devices such as standard telephones, fax machines or modems to any station port in the system without special hardware. But along with these major changes, the KX-TA624 is capable of accepting smaller changes, too-smaller, but no less significant. In fact, the modular concept of the KX-TA624 allows the user to tailor the entire telecommunications system to specific needs of the business. The additions include such newly enhanced features as:
Caller ID - If information is power, knowing who is calling before answering the telephone is a true business strength. This add-on module allows Caller ID information the caller's name and phone number to appear on the display of Panasonic proprietary 7000 series telephones. Up to two cards can be added and each supports up to three Caller ID compatible CO lines.
Voice Mail Integration - A must for a multi-office environment, this feature provides in-band integration to the Panasonic voice mail system used to handle all basic messaging needs.
Direct In-System Access (DISA)/Fax Detection - This module saves you both time and money with two separate built-in capabilities. First, when you're out of the office, you can still make a phone or fax call as if you were sitting at your desk. With DISA, dial in to the system and calls you make on the outside are handled as if they were made from an inside extension, making billing simpler and eliminating the time needed to expense on-the-road calls. Secondly, the module can also detect an incoming fax tone and automatically transfers the call to a designated extension. That saves money: no separate dedicated fax line is required.
Doorphone Door and Opener Card - For true convenience-and safety-the system now supports up to four door closures and door phones. A distinctive ring alerts all telephone users that a visitor has arrived at any of the four entrances. Anyone can then speak to the guest and remotely "buzz" them in via the telephone keypad.
"The KX-TA624 provides users with the features that they need today, and the flexibility to change the system as those needs evolve," says Gillespie. "That's a must in today's volatile small business market."
