  ProntoNEO Universal Learning Home Theater Remote Control

ProntoNEO Universal Learning Home Theater Remote Control This product has been discontinued.

In general the TSU500 is meant for people who like the idea of a customizable LCD-remote, but don't want to spend many evenings on programming it. Therefore the TSU500 is much easier to understand and to configure. However, you can still create your own user interface with all kinds of buttons and text and you can download bitmaps like channel icons.

Working with NEOedit

NEOedit allows you to personalize your ProntoNEO and to perform a range of powerful tasks:

  • You define which devices you want to operate with the ProntoNEO and you organize the list of devices in the configuration file in the tree view. For each device, you have to define the Device Settings. This means you have to select the type of device, the brand and the code set. The brands can be selected easily using a drop down box with an alphabetical list of brands.
  • You design the page layout and the appearance of buttons.
  • You define which functions you want the ProntoNEO to perform and you organize the buttons on the pages in the page view.
  • All the important functions to edit your configuration file are bundled in the Properties window. For each element in the configuration file you can display and modify the properties.
  • To identify elements in the configuration file you need to label them. You can label devices, pages and buttons.
  • You configure the behavior of the buttons and hard buttons so that, when you press a button on the ProntoNEO:
    • it sends out an IR command to a device;
    • it jumps to a page on the ProntoNEO;
    • it performs a complete action list with several IR commands, links, delays, beeps and jumps.
When you are configuring in NEOedit and you want to preview the configuration file, you can launch NEOemulator. You can actually see and try out your configuration file on your computer as you would do on the ProntoNEO.

When you have finished configuring in NEOedit, you download the ProntoNEO Configuration File into your ProntoNEO. You are now ready to operate your devices.

You can open several ProntoNEO Configuration Files in NEOedit. You can duplicate configuration files, modify them and combine them with other configuration files, through copy/paste.

You can also share the devices, graphical layouts, buttons, bitmaps or IR codes with other ProntoNEO users (see communities).
