Reports
The power of collecting barcode information is in the processing of the data. ShopWizard has 5 different reports, each report is sortable by our predefined categories or your user defined categories. We've converted each type of report into a PDF file which you can download, below. The information which ShopWizard collects and displays helps your household or business figure out exactly where your money goes.
View the following Sample Reports in your browser, or, to save them to your hard drive, right click the links and select "Save Target As...". The files are in Acrobat PDF Format (click to download Acrobat Reader).
| Files (PDF Format) | Description |
| UPC Grocery List (133 KB) | Grocery List, including UPC number |
| Grocery List (131 KB) | Grocery List, without UPC number |
| Inventory (170 KB) | Shows exactly what you have in your home or business. The amount of stuff we had certainly surprised us. Knowing what we have has allowed us to streamline our shopping to use some of that "stuff" and leave more money in our bank account.
|
| Purchase / Discard (134 KB) | Shows what has been discarded within a date range (in this case July 1-31, 2002). With a few clicks of your mouse, you can also print out purchases for any date range. If you want to create a budget based on historical data, then this is for you.
|
| Predictive Purchase (134 KB) | Shows how often you purchase items over time (purchase rate) and how long it has been since you last bought each item. This example report is for 35 days of not shopping; it closely approximates what we spend and need in a month. We designed this for a user who will only scan purchases and not scan discards. This report may also be used to determine products that you only keep one of, don't use very often , and want to get before you discard the last one. |

ShopWizard Community
The ShopWizard Community is a way of distributing new software features and dealing with the new UPCs on the market. ShopWizard Community members get all software updates and have access to a continually updated database of UPC codes.
New features are being added to ShopWizard all the time, and as a community member, you will receive those software updates as they become available.
Companies releasing new products also create new UPC codes. It's impossible for any one company to keep up with all the new UPC codes. By collecting the new product information from the ShopWizard Community, then redistributing them after a review process, data entry requirements are substantially reduced. Since all this is handled via software and the ShopWizard website, all you have to do is click the Synchronize button. The ShopWizard Community periodically updates your product "catalog" so that you have the latest information about UPC barcodes. There are currently over 340,000 barcode descriptions and more are continually being added.
Unlike the competition, ShopWizard does not collect your product usage information. That data is stored on your computer and never sent to ShopWizard. The new UPC code information that you have entered is shared with the rest of the ShopWizard community to reduce the amount of data entry for new products.
