Remote Sensing & Control of Low voltage and Lighting Scene-links

Model UMI is a plug-in module designed to sense the status of low-voltage and contact closure inputs and transmit scene-links to control high voltage loads such as lights, gates, pump/fan motors and more. It can receive scene-links and control the operation of low-power actuators. The module communicates using highly-reliable Universal Powerline Bus (UPB) technology. UPB devices such as Model UMI are configured with UPStart (PC) software and are easily integrated to provide a flexible, low cost alternative to hardwired or RF home automation strategies.

  • Sense (3) Inputs and Source (2) Output Triggers
    • Inputs trigger lighting scene-links
    • Lighting scene-links control outputs
  • Simple plug-in installation
    • Communicates over existing power lines

Model UMI sends lighting scene-links, controlling 1 to 250 UPB switches/devices, upon sensing such inputs as: alarm panel trigger outputs, RF receiver outputs, driveway sensors, a ringing telephone or doorbell, or for monitoring alarm switches on doors and windows, even audio signals from a sound system. The outputs deliver on/off control for garage door openers, electric fireplace actuators, sprinkler valves and other low-voltage/power input devices such as door strikes and central vacuum controls. Installation is simple: the module is plugged into a standard 120 VAC outlet and the devices to be monitored / controlled are wired into a terminal block on the bottom of the module. Scene-links can be assigned to the inputs (high and low) to automate control of other circuit loads in the home (e.g. garage door opens and lights come on). A non-controlled 120 VAC outlet is also provided on the face of the module. Connected devices can operate manually using scene-links from any UPB switch/controller or automatically via PC or home automation controller.
