The SU-WP4 vehicle-sensing probe systems monitor the earth's magnetic field within a given space. A moving vehicle causes a disturbance in this field, inducing a small voltage pulse in a coil.
May use a maximum of 50 feet of cable. (Needs 22/3-gauge burial cable for additional cabling). Ideal for rocky terrain or for when installer does not want to trench. (Components should be coated with Humiseal or other conformal coating to protect equipment from moisture).
Possible Ways to Bury Probe

- Center of Driveway - 1st Choice
- Sensitivity can be lowered for greater stability
- Range can be extended for a wide driveway
- Bury probe under driveway by encasing probe in 2" or 3" PVC pipe that has been sealed at one end.
- Pipe should be pitched for drainage.
- Allows retrieval of probe at a later date.
- Alongside Driveway - 2nd Choice
- Bury probe 6" -8" in soft earth close to driveway.
- Place probe parallel to traffic motion.
