Transmits Via Phone Wires
The Leapfrog HomeNetwork
system transmits video and
stereo audio sources to TVs
in any room in your home |

through existing phone
lines. This means no additional
hardwiring, superior
picture and sound quality
and because it transmits
below 30 MHz, it will not
interfere with normal phone
service.
Clear, Crisp Connections
To utilize HomeNetwork, all
you need is a phone jack
near each audio and video
component. Then connect
it to the TV via an ordinary
A/V cable. By using phone
wires at a low frequency,
the signal to noise ratio is
better than cable and VHS
sources. The result is clear
picture and sound on the
remote location just as
good as the source.
Remote Control Compatible and Fully Expandable
HomeNetwork supports
two-way infrared transmission
giving the user at a
remote location full control
over the source component.
In addition, your entertainment
system can be
expanded throughout the
home by merely adding
receivers.
Features
|
- Includes transmitter and remote receiver units
- Transmits video and/or stereo audio from TVs, VCRs, DVD players, CD players, cable TV boxes, satellite receivers and other A/V components

- Effective range of over 500 feet
- Twisted-pair home telephone wiring is an ideal carrier for audio and video signals
- Balanced circuitry eliminates noise
- Functions as a child monitor or part of a home security system when connected to a camcorder and TV
- Transmits and receives audio and video from computers (converter card required)
- Up to 4 more receiver units can be added to accommodate multiple TVs
- Included accessories: (3) A/V dubbing cables, (2) AC adapters, (2) phone cords, (1) infrared emitter
Designed for Clear Sound & Crisp Picture
By designing HomeNetwork with balanced circuits to operate
across phone wires at a low frequency, TERK has
designed an inherently superior system. Its signal-to-noise
ratio is better than cable and VHS sources and that means
that with HomeNetwork, the picture at the remote location
will be virtually identical to the picture at the source.
The Advantages of Phone Wires
The most obvious advantage of using the home's existing
telephone wiring to carry audio and video signals is that
HomeNetwork merely plugs into phone jacks near source
and destination components. No homeowner wants to run
extra wires, and with Leapfrog HomeNetwork they won't
have to.
Yet, there's much more to it. Home telephone wiring is an
ideal carrier for audio and video signals because its twistedpair
configuration is engineered for optimum transfer of lowvoltage
signals. This cancels out the effects of induced
noise (such as radio frequency interference and magnetic
fields) and reduces the wires' tendency to act as an antenna
and radiate electromagnetic interference.
Achieving Balance through Circuitry
HomeNetwork uses balanced circuitry to provide the clearest
signals possible. With a balanced circuit, only those signals
(carried by two signal conductors) that are different
from one another are amplified. Signals present in both conductors
are rejected. Because noise signals are identical in
both wires of a twisted pair, they are blocked from the system
and remain unamplified.
Long-Range, Interference-Free Transmission
HomeNetwork operates in
frequencies below 30 MHz;
therefore, it will not interfere
with phone, fax or internet
connections. Lower frequencies can also
travel greater distances
with less signal loss than higher frequencies.
HomeNetwork is Remote Control Compatible
HomeNetwork's remote control extender empowers existing
remote controls with extended range. In essence, the
receiver retransmits infrared remote control signals to control
the source component from remote locations.
