The W800 receives all X10 RF commands from key chain remotes, palm pad remotes, motion sensors, and even X10 security modules. Unlike the transceivers, this receiver sends X10 RF signals directly to a computer, thus bypassing the usual power line delay and minimizing power line clutter. Same great range and all house code support as the V572A.
The W800 family of RF receivers are designed to receive X10 RF signals generated from X10 products: Palm Pad remotes, key chain remotes, Hawkeye motion detectors, and many, many other X10 RF devices.
The W800 then sends these commands directly to your computer (RS232). This allows your computer to receive X10 RF commands from remotes and motion detectors directly, without having to broadcast any power line commands, thus minimizing power line clutter and improving home automation response times by bypassing the usual power line delay.
To use the W800 you will need a dedicated computer (PC or Mac) to interpret the received commands. If you do not have or want to use a dedicated computer, then you can use WGL's stand alone V572 transceiver. All W800 devices (W800RF32 and X800) receive:
- All 256 house/unit code addresses
- All regular X10 RF commands (on, off, dim, brighten, etc.)
Additionally, the 32 bit version, W800RF32, supports extended RF commands, such as those transmitted by X10's “Entertainment Anywhere” remotes and X10 security modules.
Specs and Protocol Documentation
Here are the detailed specs for 32 bit W800RF32. If you are interested in writing software compatible with the W800, then read the W800 protocol spec or the W800RF32 protocol spec.
Software Support
The W800RF32 is supported by all the major home automation software packages:
HomeSeer has an online discussion forum for the W800RF32. You might have to register for access to the forum.

Base Models (for use in U.S. and Canada) |
W800RF32A
|
WGL's flagship X10 RF receiver. Comes with external antenna for maximum range.
Includes 32 bit RF receiver (receives extended codes), 12 ft coax cable, external quarter wave whip antenna, 9v DC power supply, and RS232 computer cable.
|
W800RF32
|
Same as model above, except with a self contained antenna (reduced reception range).
Includes 32 bit RF receiver (receives extended codes) with self contained antenna, 9v DC power supply, and RS232 computer cable. |
W800
 |
16 bit version RF receiver. Does not receive extended codes and is not compatible with all the software listed above.
Includes 16 bit RF receiver with self contained antenna, 9v DC power supply, and RS232 computer cable.
This model does is not supported by all the software listed above.
It does work with WGL's WinX software. |
International Model (433.92 mhz)
WGL has developed a 433.92 mhz version of the W800RF32A, for use with most X10 RF transmitters sold outside of the U.S. and Canada. Like the W800RF32A, this model comes with an external whip antenna and 12 ft of coaxial cable, and is compatible with all the same software. |
W800RF32AE
|
433.92 mhz version for use outside U.S. and Canada.
Includes 32 bit RF receiver (receives extended codes), 12 ft coax cable, external quarter wave whip antenna, and RS232 computer cable. Does not include the 220 VAC to 9 VDC 50 MA power supply. |
OEM PCB Assembly (16 bit version)
With the X800 you can incorporate a X10 RF receiver into your own product or experimental project. By adding X10 RF receiving capability to your existing product, you will be able to take advantage of using low cost RF transmitters such as Palm Pad remotes, key chain remotes, Hawkeye motion sensor, etc.
The 1” x 2” circuit board requires only 5v DC at 15 ma. It is provided with a 75 ohm F type connector for use with an external 310 mhz antenna. The X800 responds to all of the standard X10 addresses and commands, and is presented in an RS232 or TTL format to interface with your product. |
X800
|
16 bit PCB version of our W800 RF receiver.
Includes 32 bit RF receiver (receives extended codes), 12 ft coax cable, external quarter wave whip antenna, and RS232 computer cable. Does not include the 220 VAC to 9 VDC 50 MA power supply. |
