If PK-9000 ("Robo-Dog") is armed and an intruder approaches your home, the outdoor battery-operated motion detector sends a wireless RF signal to PK-9000 to tell it to start barking. If motion continues PK-9000 continues to bark and turns on indoor and outdoor lights (connected to X-10 Modules). Also turns lights on at dusk and off at dawn.
The DM10A Also works with the PAT01 transceiver. Upon detection the DM10A can turn on X10 controlled lights and appliances. No OFF command is sent, however. To turn the lights and or appliances OFF after a preset time, you can program a macro in the CM11A PC Interface Module.

Set-up and Operating Instructions for DM10A Motion Detector
(For use with REX-10 Barking Dog Alarm)
Simple Set-up
If using with REX-10 Barking Dog Alarm, first refer to the instructions that came with your REX-10 to make sure it is set up and working properly from the key chain remote that came with it.
To set up the Motion Detector
Remove the screws from the front cover on the Motion Detector and remove the cover. Unclip the Motion Detector from the back plate. Remove the 2 screws from the battery compartment cover. Insert 4 AA alkaline batteries (observe polarity). Replace the battery cover. Attach the back plate to an exterior wall in a location where the Motion Detector will see any intruder who approaches your home. Clip the Motion Detector onto the back plate. Re-fit the cover. Adjust the swivel up and down for best coverage. Wait for approxi!mately 60 seconds after installing the batteries to let the sensing circuitry settle before testing the unit.
To test the Motion Detector
Make sure the slide switch on the back of REX-10 is set to RUN (to the left). Arm REX-10, by pressing the button on the back. The small red light on the back will turn on. Walk past the Motion Detector. REX-10 starts barking. Five seconds after barking starts REX-10 will turn on a Lamp Module set to Al (if you installed one). The barking will stop approximately 30 seconds later. If the Motion Detector is tripped again the sequence repeats itself, if no motion is detected for 4 minutes, i.e. REX-10 goes quiet, the Lamp Module set to Al will turn off. Note: after the Motion Detector has been tripped it will not trip again for a period of 30 seconds (for longer battery life). Press the button on the back of REX-10 to disarm it, the red light goes off.
To change the Code
for the Motion Detector Move the slide switch on the back of REX-10 to INSTALL (to the right). Remove the batteries from the Motion Detector and use a dime or a small screwdriver to set the House Code dial to match the letter you set on REX-10. Set a new Unit Code. Replace the batteries, observing polarity. Press TEST on the back of the Motion Detector. The red light on the back of REX-10 will flash to acknowledge that the Motion Detector's new code has been accepted. Replace the battery cover on the Motion Detector, clip it back onto the base, and attach the front cover. You can have as many Motion Detectors as you want and set them all to the same House Code and Unit Code, then if any one of them see motion it will trip ReX-l0. Move the slide switch on the back of REX-10 back to RUN (to the left).
The Motion Detector detects changes in light levels and transmits a signal to REX-10 to let it know whether it is light or dark outside. When the Motion Detector tells REX-10 that it is dusk, it turns on lights connected to X- 10 Modules (which are set to A2). When dawn is sensed, it then turns A2 off. Note if you changed the code that REX-10 responds to, say to 5 (see REX-10 instructions) then REX-10 will turn on lights connected to X- 10 Modules set to 6 when dusk is detected, i.e. the dusk light is always one number higher than the light that turns on when motion is detected.
To change how late or how early the dusk lights some on Set the Dusk Sensitivity switch inside the battery compart!ment on the Motion Detector the left to make the lights come on sooner or to the right to make them come on later.
