The Music Server

Included in the box is an advanced DVD-audio quality PCI-e sound card with a built in matrix switch that has the capability to output music in 12-48 rooms. To complete the installation, add one or more multi-channel amplifiers, like our CasaTunes XLa 12 x 30W multi-channel amplifier, and add speakers of your choice.

With CasaTunes XLe, you can listen to as many as nine different sources of music. It is scalable from 12-48 rooms in a home. CasaTunes XLe has five separate internal sources and four external sources. Each internal source is able to playback music from your iTunes collection, music stored on your Microsoft Windows Media Center PC, Windows PC or any networked storage device, as well as music from an iPod and Internet radio. The external sources typically come from an AM/FM tuner, XM or Sirius satellite radio or other external music source.

CasaTunes XLe includes a 1U height rack mountable expansion box that supports up to twelve rooms. For larger homes, CasaTunes XLe can grow to meet the most demanding needs of your customers by adding up to three additional expansion boxes.

Complementing its scalability are CasaTunes XLe advanced features, including support for controlling access to shared speakers in a home theater, doorbell and whole house paging integration, and IR control of external sources.

The Software

CasaTunes software is an application designed to enhance your whole-house audio hardware solutions or your existing multi-room music system by integrating an advanced Music Server into your computer and enabling you to control your whole-house audio system from anywhere in your home. CasaTunes makes it possible for you to listen to your favorite PC-based music collection, your iPod, iTunes, internet radio, or various external music sources throughout the rooms in your home.

With CasaTunes, each family member can select and control the music they want to listen to. You can control CasaTunes with a web-based browser, using Windows Media Center or even using your existing Russound or Nuvo keypads. Best of all, CasaTunes is designed to be easy to install, setup and maintain.
