The CasaTunes XLi Music Server is for installations that require 6 or less rooms.

Selecting your music has never been easier than it is with the CasaTunes XLi Music Server. Simply use the built-in touch screen and take control of your music. If you need to add control from other locations in the home, you can use any PC browser or supported web browser device, or you can opt to install the new CasaTunes keypads in each room. The CasaTunes keypads will be available in March 2009.

The music server ships with four built-in internal music sources, each one capable of playing music from your iTunes collection, music stored in Windows Media Player, and music from an iPod, iPod Touch or iPhone, and SHOUTcast™ Internet Radio.

Additionally, the CasaTunes XLi adds one external source, and input and output triggers for advanced functionality such as doorbell and paging support. Each external source can be used to listen to AM/FM tuners, XM or Sirius satellite radios or multiple other external sources.

The music server comes pre-installed with a 250GB hard drive. Using the default settings, your music server can store over 1600 albums or 20,000 songs of very high quality music that is virtually indistinguishable from the original CD. Of course, you can change your settings to use Windows Media or iTunes lossless formats (which will reduce the amount of songs you can store), or you can use one of the standard compression iTunes, Windows Media or MP3 formats, and store over 50,000 songs on your music server. And if you still need more space, simply add a second high capacity hard drive to your music server.
