Information on Domain Referrer Linking:

SmartHomeUSA has made affiliate linking beyond easy! In fact, you don't have to do anything but sign up! There are no special or complicated affiliate codes. All you have to do is link to us or any of our products! That's it! Every visitor that comes from your site to ours by clicking a link, will be tracked in your traffic logs, and will credit your affiliate account for a visit and for any sale that they complete within 30 days.

That's too easy! How does it work? DOES it work?

SmartHomeUSA watches our referrer logs for a click coming from YOUR website domain. Any user that comes directly from your site will be sent a cookie that identifies them as your visitor for 30 days. When they arrive in our cart and checkout, we look for that cookie and give you credit for any sales they complete. As long as the user's cookies are enabled, and their browser passes the "referrer" header, you WILL be credited. The vast majority of browsers in use today support both of these features.

Ok, can I confirm this is working properly?

Of course, there are two ways to make sure your links work. First, go to your website and click a link that goes to our site. When the page has finished loading, look at the blue bar on the very bottom of our page that contains our copyright information. There should be a black check mark to the right of the text on that blue bar. Lack of this black check mark tells you that the visit was not associated with an affiliate. In this case, please contact us with the name of the internet browser you are using. If you see the check mark, you can log into your affiliate account and check the "General Statistics" section. Your visitor count should have incremented by one (if that IP has not already been credited with a visit!). Also, check the "Incoming Traffic Log" section for a new traffic entry. If you have linked to us correctly, but still cannot confirm your linking code is working using these methods, please contact us for assistance!

Can I use another method of linking?

No.  At this time our system only supports our unique referrer-based crediting from websites that you own. We will be integrating additional linking methods in the future if we deem necessary.

What if I have more than one website?

At this time we only accept one affiliate domain name per affiliate account. We will consider expanding our program to track more than one domain if necessary. Please contact us with the details of your situation and the domains of your other websites.

Is there anything else I need to be aware of?

Note that the black check mark remains visible only on the first page that is displayed to the visitor. During subsequent browsing of our website, the visitor tracking is done through session cookies and our IP address logs.
