Returns Policy

Returns with SmartHomeUSA are fast and hassle-free. You can return products within 30 days of purchase for a full refund or replacement.

Merchandise returned within 30 days of purchase with the appropriate Return Authorization Number (RMA#) will receive a full product cost refund or credit, provided it is in perfect un-used condition in original undamaged and unmarked packaging, and is complete with all instructions. Once RMA#'s have been provided, they are valid for 10 calendar days.

Please note by placing an order at we can not cover return shipping costs or take responsibility for lost shipments. We encourage insuring your shipments to protect yourself. Shipping costs are not not included in the refund. 

International (including Canada)

Due to the expense of international shipping, customers outside the U.S. are responsible for all return shipping costs, regardless of the reason for return. This includes items that will be returned for a refund or that may have manufacturer defects. 


There are no returns on software, books, wires, surplus, or discontinued products.

Unique guarantee: SmartHomeUSA's defective or incorrect product items 

Within 30 days of purchase, if you receive a defective or incorrect product and you are located within U.S., we will cover all costs (including your shipping costs) involved in getting you a new product and/or returning the original product.

You will NEVER incur a cost if you receive a defective product or if we make a mistake.

After 30 days, defective products will be replaced or repaired according to the manufacturer’s warranty policy.

SmartHomeUSA’s standard policy of free returns for defective items does not apply to shipments outside the 48 contiguous states.

To receive a full product refund on returns:

  • Items must be returned within 30 days since the purchase date
  • You must ship your items back to us within 10 days of when we issued the RMA# to you
  • Must be in NEW condition with undamaged packaging
  • Must be returned with all original packaging and accessories

If your returned items are damaged, missing parts, not in original condition, or have signs of use, a 30% restocking fee will apply.

Discontinued Products:

These products must be returned to the original manufacturer for warranty replacement or repair. We can help you with obtaining that information but unfortunately we can’t accept it.


  1. Initiate a return/defect replacement request
  2. If provided, print the shipping label that we provide you 
  3. Prepare the package
    1.  Carefully package your return in a separate shipping box. Do not ship the item using the product box.
    2. Write your provided Return Authorization Number (RMA#) clearly on the outside of the shipping box. (Do not write on the product box)
    3. Ship your return within 10 days of receiving the RMA# from us using trackable carriers (such as FedEx, UPS, or USPS Priority Mail)

What Happens Next?

We refund the cost of the returned merchandise as soon as we receive the delivery, we will send you an email to confirm that the return has been completed.

Refunds will be issued to the original payment method such as the credit card used for the order.

Please note once we grant you the refund, your credit card company may take up to 10 additional business days to post the refund to your account.

In your refund, we don’t refund the original shipping and handling charges.
